On Saturday, September 16th, 2023, the Raritan Bay Angler’s Club held their Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby. It was another successful and memorable event for everyone.
The Raritan Bay Angler’s Club has been co-sponsoring the Annual Fishing Derby and Casting Contest with the City of Perth Amboy since 2010. The event is held in September at the Perth Amboy marina that has a 300+ foot fishing pier. It is open to all children, age 15 years and younger regardless of where they live.
The club participates by donating prizes, chum, bait and most importantly their time to help young anglers enjoy our sport. Club members weigh caught fish and assist with rigging, tangles and casting. It’s a memorable event that passes on our knowledge to younger generations.
